Public Aquaria

Public aquaria are of prime importance to the hobby. In addition to the visual pleasure provided to visitors, they also allow us to admire species we could not otherwise see from proximity. They are key to  the preservation of endangered aquatic life in captivity. They have a major educational input both in terms of expanding aquariophilia and the love of aquatic animals amongst the younger generation and in terms of setting a standard for the correct keeping of aquatic animals in captivity.

Here we present photos of what we saw in different public aquaria; in some cases these are accompanied by a short description giving a "feel" for the place.
