"When all the world is young, lad and all the trees are green, and every goose a swan, lad and every lass a queen,
then hey for boot and horse, lad, and round the world away: young blood must have its course, lad and every dog his day.” Charles Kingsley

Branta canadensis I: Portraits Canada goose is a very graceful bird. We enjoy watching the birds in Sale water park, as well as in the river close to our home in Manchester; they can be peaceful and elegant, swimming nonchalantly in the lake or the river; the next moment water splashes all over the place and there is a territorial fight going on. These usually quiet birds fill the atmosphere with their cries during mating season; for the action photographer that is a most interesting time. Geese fly all over the lake and the river, landing, taking off, displaying or fighting. Reputed to be quite aggressive, the birds have settled quite well in Sale water park. They are used to accepting treats from visitors and will even retreat if someone approaches too close. Photos by Marina Parha and George J. Reclos Shooting Data: 1. Camera: Nikon D300 2.
