Portraits - Getting the right mood

 

Different approaches lead to different results and portrait photography is a clear example of this. This set of photos shows the results obtained from some experiments I did over time.

1. Camera: Nikon D700
Sensitivity: ISO 200
Shutter speed - aperture: 1/125 sec - f/8, Manual mode
Flash: flash & soft box.

2. Camera: Nikon D70
Sensitivity: ISO 200
Shutter speed - aperture: 1/60 sec - f/5.6, Auto mode, -2 EV
Flash: auto mode.

Lens: AF Tamron 180mm f/3.5 Macro 1:1
Sensitivity: ISO 640

Flash: No flash.

4. Camera: Nikon D700
Lens: Nikkor 50mm f/1.4
Sensitivity: ISO 3600
Shutter speed - aperture: 1/60 sec - f/1.4, Auto mode
Flash: no flash

5. Camera: Nikon D700
Sensitivity: ISO 200
Shutter speed - aperture: 1/60 sec - f/5, Auto mode
Flash: SB-800 in auto mode.
