"There is an abiding beauty which may be appreciated by those who will see things as they are and who will ask for no reward except to see." Vera Brittain

Facelina auriculata (also: F. coronata; Order: Nudibranchia; Suborder: Aelodina; Family: Glaucidae; common name: Facelina (UK); Grande Faceline (F)) )

When we planned our dive in Ayvalik, (which is near Izmir) I just wanted to take some photos of the fishes. During the dive I saw this small animal. I took a shot and then checked the technical details on the LCD screen of my camera (I wanted to make sure things like the strobe level or exposure time were correct). With the benefit of the LCD zooming I realised that this small animal is so beautiful, it is like an angel. I stopped concentrating on the technical details and started watch its movements. For a few minutes I was totally captivated. Then suddenly I realised I was there to take photos rather than spend the whole time admiring this animal. I set the F-Number to 18 because underwater shots can be tricky; there are things you don't realise until you see your photos on the computer screen and by then it is too late to do anything. Maybe there is another small creature somewhere around but in these shots only my shiny, pretty angel nudibranch is moving...
