"I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man? " Chuang Tsu

Pontia edusa (common name: Eastern bath white)

This was a lucky shot. I was returning home after a photo session and was routinely checking the road for insects with no luck. When I opened the gate to get in the garden I found this butterfly sitting on the wall. My presence, or the flash, did not bother it. I had all the time in the world to focus on its head, take a couple of pictures to make sure one of them would show the eyes in perfect focus; when I left the butterfly was still in the same position. I wish more insects would adopt this behaviour. Many thanks to Matt Rawlings (eurobutterflies.com) for identifying this butterfly.
