Asphodelus microcarpus (Family: Asphodelaceae) A beautiful solitary plant with elegant flowers, which create an impressive sight when they blossom. The particular plants shown in the photos below were found near the sea (first photo; March 2005) and in Mt. Hymettus (April / May 2009). It is generally found in dry, rocky places and is quite easy to spot since it grows to one meter or higher. Fortunately, the beautiful flowers, which do not last very long, open sequentially therefore the same plant will have flowers for a month or so. The fruits are shown in the last photo of this album.
