Alcedo atthis (Kingfisher) - Personal Care

We have been observing for a while the behaviour of the common Kingfisher. We were impressed by its grooming habits which appear to be quite thorough and methodical. Every so often the bird was stretching as if it wanted to release the tension of its muscles. The photos were taken in Strophylia reserve, West Peloponese, Greece.
