Phasianus colchicus (Pheasant)

The ring necked pheasant is quite common in rural areas here in Belgium. Most of the times you do not see them as they are hidden in the vegetation. The display call of the male however is quite loud and always reveals their presence. What I did not know before was that during this loud call the males put their head upwards and flap their wings very briefly. I was lucky as I managed to capture a fast sequence of this display call.
