Anas platyrynchos cross (Mallard)

We saw these ducks amongst a number of mallards at Sale water park. They are particularly attractive birds but we had difficulty identifying them. Our friend, Eva Stets, informed us they are a cross of home raised ducks with mallards. In the first photo the duck decided to 'communicate' with us, while we were taking photos of it. In the subsequent photos it is shaking its wings in the characteristic way ducks do during sessions of personal hygiene.
