Landscapes from the North and Central Peloponese (Patras, Tripotama, Levidi, Stymphalia) During our Christmas holidays we decided to make a tour of the Northern part of Peloponese and take some photos. We started from Patras in the morning and drove to Levidi (crossing Achaea, Elis and Arcadia prefectures) where we arrived just after sunset. On another occasion we visited the now drained Stymphalia Lake (Corinthia). The landscape is rich and interesting, full of mountains, forests and rivers. Although we visited just a small part of this magnificent place we still got some nice pictures which are to serve as an appetizer since we have already arranged a 5 day photographic tour of Peloponese in Easter. Some of the photos below were taken under rain. The first photo shows a lonely tree in the drained Stymphalia Lake. Next comes a herd of sheep guarded by this cute little dog which never stopped barking at us while we were slowly approaching the herd for a wideangle shot. The beautiful clouds in the deep blue sky make a perfect contrast against the forest on the mountains and the low vegetation in the foreground, just a few moments after the rain stopped. An old bridge stands over Erymanthos river in Tripotama (the name of the place refers to the three rivers meeting there). Finally, a slow shutter speed was selected to show the water motion of the Erymanthos river; the photo was taken under rain. Photos by Marina Parha and George J. Reclos Shooting data: 1.
