Crested Caracara A truly majestic bird in a truly majestic posture. Despite the fact that he lives in captivity this individual clearly retains his lordly attitude, as he stands on a branch gazing at the surroundings. I thought his pride was more obvious when shown against the iron bars of the enclosure in the background. Camera: Nikon D70 |

Crested Caracara Pair The pair has chosen to nest under a piece of wood, which I found quite odd as I was expecting them to have chosen a branch higher up so they could detect movements easier. I found the relaxed expression on the face of such powerful predators compelling.
