"The word ‘art’ is very slippery. It really has no importance in relation to one’s work. I work for the pleasure, for the pleasure of the work, and everything else is a matter for the critics." Manuel Alvarez Bravo

Cebus apella, (Family:Cebidae, common name: Capuchin monkey) Capuchins are extremely playful and like big spaces in which they can move around all day long. We visited the enclosure carrying bananas and nuts which we were informed they love. The colony soon realised they were in for a treat and gathered around us trying to get as many of the goodies as possible. The monkeys came close to pick two, sometimes three nuts, which they carried one in each hand and one with their tail. A number of females were carrying their young; they kept further away from us and we made sure we did not approach any closer than what they thought was an acceptable distance. Due to a largely overcast day we had to rely on flash - something evident in some of the photos. Photos by Marina Parha and George J. Reclos Shooting Data: 1. Camera: Nikon D700 2.
