Patras after Sunset Patras is the largest city of Peloponnese and one of the largest cities in Greece. It is one of these cities that is totally transformed after sunset. We have been there quite a few times so we managed to take different shots, at different places, different times of the year and under different weather conditions. Naturally, we would need hundreds of photos to show the beauty of the city, so this is to be taken as an appetizer. More albums may follow in the future. In the photos that appear here we tried to show a bit of everything. Starting with the sunset at Patraikos gulf with the city lights still turned off, we see the lights of the ships that appear in the dusk and, a bit later, a view of part of the city with the tiny lights shining as if they were hanging on a Christmas tree. Then comes a shot of a decorated street taken last Christmas (winter 2009), shortly after a rainfall. A shot taken from the interior of a building under construction shows the city lights coming in through the arches creating nice shapes on the ground. A lonely black cat is shot from ground level on New Year's Eve (2010). Then comes a shot taken during the celebration of the Resurrection according to the Greek Orthodox Easter tradition in one of Patras' churches. A shot of a street in Patras, showing the different types of lights creating interesting hues. An interesting window decoration of one of the local shops. Finally, the traffic lights tells you to wait for the next album. We will keep walking. Photos by Marina
