Countryside 

We were privileged to grow up at a time where everything was not tarmac, glass, iron and cement. The Greek countryside (our countryside) was still open fields, grass, mountains and unspoiled beaches. Farm animals and animals used for labour were an everyday sight  during our school summer holidays and on occasions we were asked to look after them as part of our daily routine. Children today can only see these animals from a distance if they are lucky enough to visit a zoo with their family or school. And then we are wondering about violence .....
