Heniochus intermedius (family: Chaetodontidae; common name: Red Sea Bannerfish)

This fish, pale yellow below and white above, with 2 broad diagonal black bands can reach up to 20cm in length. It is usually found in schools as juveniles on coral heads, sometimes with Heniochus diphreutes. Adults are believed to form monogamous pairs. It is one of the most characteristic species in Red Sea and a stricking fish to photograph.
