Saluting spring

When you make it a habit to take long walks with your camera in the same place you can always tell if something is different. The change of seasons in particular becomes evident by subtle changes which take place at a pre-determined time, the same every year. It can be a new flower here or there, a tree which blossoms, a young leaf which unfolds on a branch. It is the way of plants to salute spring, which most of the time pass unnoticed during our everyday routine. This portfolio is dedicated to this salute and shows some of the ways plants use to welcome the season change. A bunch of small flowers form a delicate crown in a tree; some crowns are all white while some others have pink flowers, too. Leaves spout on two branches of different trees, enjoying the sun and the rise in temperature. A yellow daisy sends out its first blossom while three more are waiting to do the same. A blue – white daisy opens in the sun and closes when the sun sets. The bright sun in late February allowed us to look into this delicate flower and take a photo of its bright blue organelles. Finally, the unmistakable sign of coming spring: an almond tree blossoms under the clear blue sky.
