Glossary

The "Glossary" has a very ambitious aim: to include and explain a comprehensive list of terms which are commonly used in the hobby or are hobby-specific. The terms are presented in alphabetical order. Further reading, where available, is strictly in the form of links. We appreciate that not everybody will have access to the same books or journals, so in the glossary we are listing exclusively internet resources. References to books or journals can be found at the bottom of related articles or in the References section. 

All the words appearing in the screen as light blue are links; click on them and you will go to the relevant article.  Where there are more than one link available, additional links are listed under the explanation of each term.

The Glossary is an on-going piece of work (something like the never-ending story ....). We will endeavour to add to it during each update so that it soon becomes a reliable internet resource for all hobbyists. 

There are hundreds of terms used in the hobby currently; for a number of them one can find information on different sites. Naturally we can't be aware of all of them, so we are seriously counting on your help to send in definitions and links! If you have read a good article somewhere or have eventually managed to find a good definition of a term please contact the Webmaster with the details. Full credits will be given, of course.
