Stock - The Inhabitants
This is the million dollar question: how did we become aquarists? Did we just fancy the idea of a tank as an original decorative feature or did we get intrigued by a particular species and we would like to know more about it? (For ourselves we blame parents, they always seem to start it by presenting kids with their very first goldfish).
No matter how we got in the hobby we all ended up having a tank and needing (did you see this? "needing" was subconsciously chosen over "wanting") to put some fish in it. Or having some fish who wouldn't settle in the spare room unless a tank was in there. Whatever the case, choosing the stock and keeping it in good shape to enjoy for years to come is the essence of the hobby and the focus of this category.
