Legislation

With more species acquiring protected status, it is important that aquarists become familiar with legislation in their own country to ensure that acquiring a certain species will not adversely affect the fish or themselves.

In this category you will find information about legislation re: protected or rare species in different countries. The information is by no means exhaustive or definitive. Legislation changes and we cannot guarantee that we always have the latest updates. We do hope, however, that this category may eventually become helpful to fellow aquarists, even if only for signposting them to the right direction.

Your co-operation in putting the information together is essential and very much appreciated. Please do contact The Webmaster if you have information about legal requirements regarding exporting, importing or keeping a particular fish species in your own country.
