Aquatic Life Brackish
Brakish waters are usually found where sea water meets clear water from rivers or lakes; the salinity ranges from 1.005 to 1015. These habitats are usually referred to as estuaries, mangrove swamps or salt marshes.
The organisms living in brakish waters manifest different levels of adaptability to other types of water; for instance, some can adapt well to freshwater, others do not. In this section you will find presentations of brackish fish, plants, inverterbrates and biotopes.
