A word from MCH

MCH Portal is devoted to the celebration of Nature. In our Aquatic Life and Fishkeeping sections there are photos and information about aquatic species in their natural habitat and suggestions about keeping and breeding these in captivity. Our Photography section contains photos of beautiful landscapes and animals as well as articles about taking photos. In The Miracle of Life there are photos and articles relating to observing, keeping and looking after animal and plant species. MCH Portal also contains links to similar sites. Photography, fishkeeping and treating other life forms with the respect they deserve are arts so we chose the painting of the Italian artist Kho to represent them in our logo.
We live on a beautiful planet. Love of nature, animals and plants is not just necessary for us to be able to live our life to the full; it is also contagious. We sincerely hope that through these pages more people will appreciate the beauty of the world as we do and will join the MCH family. To continue reading through the site press any link.

Welcome

Tuesday, 28th December 2011

We are about to say goodbye to yet another year. 2011 has been a challenging year for the world; we would like to wish you all a much better 2012 full of happiness, health and prosperity.

This year our Christmas photo shows Psipsinos, a very special member of our family. Born a fighter, Psipsinos took fate in his paws when things went all wrong for him; he won and secured a happy life for himself. It is worth reading his story.

We would like to draw your attention to Claudia Dickinson's contribution this month. Claudia founded the CARES Preservation Program  with a view to promoting the preservation of threatened species through responsible aquarism. We feel this is an admirable initiative and worth the support of all.

It is a great pleasure to congratulate Mahi Goula and George Parchas  for the publication of their photo of the albino cormorant in National Geographic, Greece. We wish them both all the best in their wildlife photography. To see Mahi and George's photos of this rare bird check the photoalbum first published by MCH. Mahi and George keep the photos coming!

Finally we would like to remind you that if you want to suggest improvements regarding either the appearance or the functionality of the site now is the time to do it. Please email the webmaster with your ideas or proposals and we will discuss them with our IT team.

Enjoy the update everybody!
